Seems time to make some kind of statement. As I'm sure most of you are well aware, Prismatic, the new novel of plague, conspiracy and madness from Lothian Books, is now out. As in, official release date, shipping to bookstores, due in Dymocks mid-next week and other places possibly earlier or later.
Prismatic was co-written by myself, David and Evan under the name Edwina Grey. The writing process was frenzied and incredibly creative, the end result nothing short of a miracle (of its kind sort of dark and squishy). I think the moral is something like 'just write the damn thing'.
I mark the start of my writing career by the first rejection letter I received from Ellen Datlow (some time in 1989) (the story has never been published) (there's a good reason for that). This book has been a long time coming, and I know you know just how that time can drag.
I am grateful to Lothian, their wonderful editors and Secret Advisor. I am grateful to all the people who have published and read my shorter and/or less fictitious works over the years (and above all the poetry). And I am happy and proud to be a part of Edwina Grey. Especially the part in the trench coat and dark glasses.
