New Work - "The Loquacious Cadaver"
I am delighted to report that my story "The Loquacious Cadaver" is now available in The Lion and the Aardvark: Aesop's Modern Fables from Stone Skin Press. Edited by role-playing and narrative maestro Robin D. Laws (Author of Hamlet's Hit Points among many others), it is exactly what you'd expect : a collection of short moral tales featuring animals, gods and humans in unusual combinations.

Aesop himself was flung from a high rock by the priests of Delphi for sacrilege, but the fable form has endured for roughly 2,500 years. The idea of this collection is not in any way to mock the originals, but to simply acknowledge situations that they do not cover. Thus, along with my own contribution, it includes Emily Care Boss's "The Little Meme That Could", "The Cat and the Cell Phone" by Ann Ewan, "The Microbe Who Had Perspective" by Gareth Ryder-Hanrahan and John Kovalic (of Dork Tower fame) has contributed a piece entitled "The Muskrat and the Deadline" which I for one can't wait to read.
Illustrated by Rachel Kahn (exemplified above), the e-book is now available for instant download and the paperback for pre-order from the Stone Skin Press Shop. There was a lovely, lovely hardback but that was a strictly limited edition!
