A Conflux of Influences

Precisely a week from now, I will heading down to Conflux 7 with my brand new book in hand. This convention takes place at the Quality Hotel Woden, Corner Melrose Drive & Launceston Road, Phillip ACT 2606 and features many strange and wonderful events. Including these, which I am in most cases hosting :-

2.30 pm - Great Libraries of Fantasy

The Great Library of the Dreamlands, the unseen University, Borges’ library-world, the book-lined labyrinth of The Name of the Rose… appropriately enough, fantastic literature creates fantastic libraries.  What do they tell us about real libraries and the current danger to these?

12.30 pm - The Paradox of Darkness
Welcome to another decadence-inducing soiree.  How is it that we are able to enjoy horrific literature?  Is this pleasure good, moral or even real?
